The ACCUPRO 312279 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. The cutter measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 0.030 inch corner radius and a 0.75 inch length of cut. A five-flute configuration with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. AlCrTiN coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for harder workpiece materials. The extended reach design, with a 3.375 inch reach length and 6 inch overall length, allows access to deep features without sacrificing rigidity. Centercutting geometry enables plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and improves tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills. Extended reach and a reduced neck diameter of 0.593 inches make it appropriate for deep-pocket and cavity work in mold, die, and aerospace component machining. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute spiral are standard configurations compatible with conventional spindle setups. Single-end construction with a 5/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders.
Designed for use in standard CNC or manual milling machines accepting a 5/8 inch shank via collet chuck or end mill holder. Suitable for profiling and contouring operations on ferrous alloys, hardened steels, stainless, and similar materials where AlCrTiN coating performance is beneficial.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before initiating a cut.
