The ACCUPRO 312237 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter and a 5-flute configuration, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes on hardened materials. The 38-degree variable-index helix geometry reduces harmonics during cutting, while the AlCrTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature applications. This end mill features a corner radius of 0.030 inches, which strengthens the cutting edge and reduces chipping compared to a sharp corner profile. It is a centercutting, single-end tool suited for plunge, slot, and peripheral milling operations across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installation and use are performed by machining professionals operating CNC or manual milling equipment.
The 312237 is built for extended-reach applications, with an overall length of 6 inches and a reach length of 4.125 inches, making it well suited for deep-cavity, pocket, and mold-and-die work where standard-reach tools cannot access the workpiece. The neck diameter of 0.475 inches provides clearance relief in confined areas. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 1/2 inch shank diameter allow secure tool holding in standard ER or side-lock collet chucks. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make this tool compatible with conventional CNC spindle configurations. Micrograin carbide substrate supports the demands of high-speed, high-feed toolpaths common in aerospace, automotive, and precision die work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/2 inch shank tool holders.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state. Ensure the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the 1/2 inch shank to the correct insertion depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a 5-flute extended-reach tool. Follow the cutting tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and coolant application appropriate to the workpiece material.
