The ACCUPRO 312199 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.500 inch mill diameter, a 0.020 inch corner radius, and a 5-flute configuration with a 38-degree helix angle, this tool delivers smooth cutting action and excellent surface finish. The AlCrTiN coating provides high heat resistance and wear protection, making it well suited for hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials. At 4.000 inches overall length with a 2.250 inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.475 inches, this is an extended-reach tool built for deep-pocket and cavity work where standard-length mills cannot reach.
This end mill is used in CNC milling operations across job shops, tool-and-die, mold-and-die, and aerospace production environments. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry, and the right-hand flute direction with right-hand cutting rotation is compatible with standard vertical and horizontal machining centers. The variable index design reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, which is especially useful in deep-cavity applications where reach and stability are both critical factors.
Designed as a direct-fitment cutting tool for CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. No specific OEM system compatibility was stated in the product data.
This end mill is installed and serviced by machinists and CNC operators familiar with toolholder torque procedures and runout verification. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before first use, as extended-reach tools are sensitive to runout-induced chatter and premature edge wear. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut based on workpiece material.
