The ACCUPRO 312155 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding shop environments. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1/2-inch length of cut (LOC), and five flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration. The 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during side milling, slotting, and profiling operations. An AlTiCrN coating provides elevated heat resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge retention. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous alloys where heat generation and tool wear are primary concerns. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and milling chucks designed for that bore size. With a reach length of 3.125 inches and an overall length (OAL) of 6 inches, the 312155 accommodates extended-reach applications where standard-length tooling cannot clear fixtures or part features. The variable index geometry helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter. Part of the ACCUPRO HS Series extended-reach solid carbide end mill line.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the manufacturer-specified gauge length before torquing the collet or set screw. Inspect the shank and collet bore for chips or burrs before seating. Verify spindle runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish on a 5-flute tool.
