The ACCUPRO 312140 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and hard materials. Built on the HS series platform, it features a 3/8 inch diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup at the cutting edge. The AlTiCrN coating delivers elevated oxidation resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. With five flutes and a variable index geometry, it runs at higher surface feeds while minimizing chatter. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this end mill for finish milling, profiling, and slotting operations where surface finish and tool longevity matter.
This end mill fits CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for 3/8 inch shank toolholders. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration suits conventional climb milling and conventional milling passes on steel alloys, stainless, and hardened materials. The extended reach length of 2.125 inches allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features without requiring a longer-reach holder. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high-speed cutting parameters where carbide rigidity is essential to holding dimensional tolerances.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before seating or removing the end mill from the holder. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or end mill holder to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator before initiating a new program or cut sequence.
