The ACCUPRO 311812 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built on the HS series platform, it features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 5 inch overall length. The AlCrTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials. With 5 flutes, a variable index, and a 38-degree helix angle, this end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and reduced vibration during heavy roughing and finishing passes. It is centercutting capable, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. Material grade is micrograin carbide for consistent edge integrity.
The 311812 is suited for milling operations on ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless, and similar difficult-to-machine alloys. Its single-end configuration and right-hand flute direction make it a standard fit for CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers running high-speed or high-feed programs. The corner radius geometry — 0.120 inch — reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and improves surface finish at the floor-to-wall transition in pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank end mill in ER, side-lock, or hydraulic toolholders.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Verify toolholder runout and clamping torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for coating integrity before each use — do not run a chipped or damaged end mill. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut parameters match the workpiece material and toolpath strategy before engaging the cut.
