The ACCUPRO 311764 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built to Series HS specifications, it measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 2.5-inch length of cut and a 5-inch overall length. The AlCrTiN coating provides excellent heat resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making this end mill well-suited for hardened steels, stainless alloys, and high-temperature materials. Five flutes with a 38-degree variable-index helix deliver smooth chip evacuation and reduced chatter. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to the application range. Licensed machinists and CNC tool-and-die technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for precision milling operations in both vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills. The 0.120-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and produces a blended radius on workpiece corners without a secondary operation. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and semi-finish to finish contouring in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration suits standard CNC spindle setups. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances, with a mill diameter tolerance held to +0.000 / -0.001 inches.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/8-inch straight shank end mill. Shank diameter matches the mill diameter at 0.625 inches for use in standard ER or side-lock toolholders of the appropriate bore.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a five-flute geometry.
