The ACCUPRO 311754 is a 5-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/2 inch length of cut (LOC), and an overall length (OAL) of 5 inches. The 5/8 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for straightforward toolholder compatibility. The 38-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The AlTiCrN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making this end mill well suited for harder workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is designed for milling operations requiring extended reach and a longer LOC relative to diameter. The 5-flute geometry increases the number of cutting edges in contact with the material, improving surface finish and feed-rate potential compared to standard 4-flute tools. The variable index spacing reduces harmonic vibration during the cut. The single-end configuration means the tool is replaced when worn rather than indexed. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, pocketing, and peripheral milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where the AlTiCrN coating provides an advantage.
Designed for use in standard ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch shank. Part of the ACCUPRO HS series of solid carbide end mills. Verify holder runout and clamping length requirements before use in high-speed or high-feed applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Clean the shank and toolholder bore of chips and coolant residue before clamping to maintain concentricity and minimize runout. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
