The ACCUPRO 311730 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlCrTiN for heat and wear resistance, this tool handles aggressive cuts in hardened steels, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. It features a 5/8-inch diameter, five-flute geometry with a 38-degree variable index helix, and a 0.060-inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life in finishing and semi-finishing passes. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This end mill is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers working in production and job-shop settings.
Suited for vertical and horizontal milling centers, the 311730 is a single-end tool with a right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction. Its 1-5/8-inch length of cut and 3-1/2-inch overall length make it well-matched to medium-depth cavity work, shoulder milling, and contour operations on mold bases, fixtures, and structural components. The 5/8-inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter for direct collet or end-mill-holder mounting with minimal runout.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 5/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers requiring a corner radius end mill in the ACCUPRO HS Series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque set screws per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Always confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting geometry of this tool before engaging the workpiece.
