The ACCUPRO 311610 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hard materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.120 inch corner radius, five flutes with a variable index geometry, and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The AlCrTiN coating provides high heat resistance and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-speed and dry machining environments. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shop, production, and toolroom environments.
The 311610 is used in vertical and horizontal milling applications where a corner radius profile is required to reduce stress concentrations at the base of a feature or to produce a blended radius at the floor of a pocket or slot. With a 5/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length, it is suited to shallow-to-moderate depth passes in die and mold work, aerospace components, and general precision machining. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Single-end configuration with a 1/2 inch straight shank for standard collet or end mill holder mounting.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholders compatible with a 1/2 inch straight shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills equipped with appropriate toolholding.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before mounting or removing the tool. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production use to confirm proper seating and minimize tool deflection.
