The ACCUPRO 311550 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 5-flute geometry with a 38-degree helix angle. The cutting edge is finished with an AlCrTiN coating, which improves heat resistance and tool life in high-speed machining of hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent edge integrity across production runs. This tool is single-end, center-cutting, and designed for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in machine shop environments.
The 311550 is suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations in vertical and horizontal machining centers, as well as CNC mills. Its corner radius geometry blends the floor and wall of a pocket or profile, reducing stress concentrations and improving surface finish compared to a square end mill. The variable index flute spacing helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts. With a 3/8 inch shank diameter matching the cutter diameter, this tool is compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in typical shop setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 3/8 inch end mill holders or collet chucks.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine or holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades surface finish.
