The ACCUPRO 311522 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of materials. Built on the HS series platform, it features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch decimal) cutting diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. The AlTiCrN coating provides excellent thermal resistance and wear performance, making this tool well-suited for aggressive cutting strategies including high-speed and high-temperature applications. With 5 flutes and a 38-degree helix angle, the geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a smooth surface finish. Machinists and tooling professionals install this end mill in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is appropriate for use in precision machining environments where tight tolerances and consistent surface quality are required. The right-hand cutting direction and spiral flute configuration support conventional and climb milling passes. The single-end design and 3/8 inch shank diameter allow direct installation into standard collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 3/8 inch shanks. The variable index feature reduces harmonic chatter, which is particularly useful when machining harder alloys or thin-walled workpieces. This tool is commonly used in job shops, production machining, and tool rooms handling steel, stainless, and similar materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement end mill compatible with standard 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and toolholding systems sized for a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and should not be dropped or struck against hard surfaces.
