The ACCUPRO 311452 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding shop environments. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.0200 inch corner radius, a 5-flute geometry, and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The AlCrTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other abrasive materials. Variable index flute spacing reduces chatter and vibration during aggressive cuts. This is a centercutting, single-end tool ground from micrograin solid carbide stock. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling passes where edge condition and corner integrity are critical. The 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length make it a practical choice for moderate-depth peripheral and slot milling in vertical machining centers and knee mills. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle setups. The AlCrTiN coating performs well in dry and near-dry cutting conditions, reducing the need for flood coolant in high-speed applications.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with 1/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following shop toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool from any holder. Torque collet nuts and set screws according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the shank and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating to verify proper tool concentricity.
