The ACCUPRO 311287 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.030 inch corner radius, this tool delivers controlled edge geometry that reduces stress concentration at workpiece corners. The AlCrTiN coating provides high heat resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. A 38-degree helix angle combined with a variable index and chipbreaker geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces chatter. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in production and job shop environments.
The 311287 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where corner radii are required on part features. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it applicable for slotting, profiling, and ramping operations. The single-end, right-hand cut and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers. With a 3 inch overall length and 1/2 inch shank diameter, the tool fits directly into standard 1/2 inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders without adapters in most setups.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 1/2 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit systems used on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills accepting 1/2 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an energy-isolated state before loading or unloading the tool. Verify shank seating depth and runout at the cutting diameter before engaging a cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut for the material being machined.
