The ACCUPRO 311216 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The tool features a 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) mill diameter, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 3-1/2 inch overall length. Four flutes with a 38-degree helix angle provide aggressive material removal while maintaining surface finish quality. The AlTiCrN coating adds thermal resistance and hardness, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments install this end mill for profiling, contouring, and finish passes requiring a full-radius tip.
This end mill is suited for milling operations in ferrous alloys, hardened steels, stainless steels, and high-temp alloys where coating performance and edge integrity are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling commonly used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The variable index flute geometry reduces harmonic chatter during interrupted cuts and long-reach operations. Series HS micrograin carbide substrate construction supports high spindle speeds and aggressive feed rates in both roughing and finishing strategies.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank via ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is clean and the collet or holder is free of debris before tightening to the manufacturer's specified torque for the holder type in use. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, especially for finish passes where surface quality is critical.
