The ACCUPRO 310893 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations where edge integrity and tool life are critical. Built with a 1/2 inch diameter and a 0.030 inch corner radius, it reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends part finish quality in demanding materials. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 38-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlCrTiN coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, making this tool well-suited for high-speed and dry machining environments. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge as well as profile. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production facilities are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for extended-reach applications, with a 2.25 inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.475 inches, allowing access to deep pockets and complex workpiece geometries without sacrificing rigidity where the shank supports the cut. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length make it appropriate for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The variable index flute spacing helps dampen vibration during high-feed operations, contributing to improved surface finish and reduced chatter in production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tool compatible with standard 1/2 inch shank toolholders including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit systems used in CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an E-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/2 inch shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a 4-flute carbide tool.
