The ACCUPRO 310806 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring extended reach and a protected corner geometry. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.020 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration combined with a variable index geometry and AlCrTiN coating makes this tool well-suited for high-temperature cutting conditions in hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. Overall length is 4 inches with a 2-1/8 inch reach length, making it appropriate for deep-cavity and extended-reach applications. It is centercutting and capable of plunge entry.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where corner radius geometry is required to prevent corner chipping, reduce part stress risers, or meet a radiused-floor callout. The extended reach and reduced neck diameter of 0.2370 inches allow access into pockets and slots where a standard-reach tool cannot reach the cutting zone. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and production runs on hardened steel, stainless, and high-temp alloys. It is a single-end tool used by machinists and tooling setters in both job-shop and production environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for 1/4 inch shank toolholders including ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring a corner radius end mill with extended reach in the HS series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and at a complete stop before changing tooling. Seat the 1/4 inch shank to the recommended gauge line in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a reduced-neck extended-reach tool.
