The ACCUPRO 310288 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length. The four-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 38-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlCrTiN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed cutting. The variable index geometry reduces harmonic vibration, improving surface finish and tool life. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge milling operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop settings.
The 310288 is suited for milling ferrous and hard alloy materials where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. Its 0.030 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, making it appropriate for finishing passes on pockets, slots, and contoured profiles. The micrograin solid carbide substrate supports aggressive feed rates in steel, stainless, and hardened alloys. It is a single-end tool sized for standard 1/2 inch collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical machining centers and CNC milling machines requiring a corner radius end mill with a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the collet or set screws according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
