The ACCUPRO 310229 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length. The four-flute, single-end design incorporates a 38-degree helix angle and a variable index geometry that reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. An AlCrTiN coating provides oxidation resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. This end mill is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
The 310229 is suited for side milling, profiling, and slotting operations where a blended corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations in the finished part. The 0.090 inch corner radius and right-hand cutting direction make it a standard choice for 3-axis and multi-axis machining centers. Micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent performance in interrupted cuts. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, and general precision machining where a sharp inside corner is not required.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch straight-bore end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders compatible with a straight-cylindrical shank. Confirm holder bore tolerance and runout specification before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing any cutting tool. Verify that the holder bore is clean and free of chips before inserting the shank. Minimum stick-out should be used to maximize rigidity and minimize deflection. Do not exceed the holder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque.
