The ACCUPRO 2500546 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining applications. With a 1/2 inch diameter and 2 inch length of cut, this single-end mill features five flutes with a right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction. The AlCrTiN coating provides excellent heat and oxidation resistance, extending tool life in abrasive and hard materials. A chipbreaker geometry and variable index design help reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation. The 0.020 inch corner radius protects the cutting edge and produces a small blended radius at the floor of milled features. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments install this tool in standard straight-shank collet or end mill holders.
This end mill suits precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a corner radius profile is required. The 38-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and efficient chip flow. At 4 inches overall length with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard ER and end mill collet systems. The centercutting configuration allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Typical applications include slot milling, peripheral milling, and pocket work where a radiused floor-to-wall transition is specified. The micrograin carbide substrate adds rigidity and edge retention on harder workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/2 inch straight-shank collet holders and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder to the depth specified by the holder manufacturer. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when dimensional accuracy is critical.
