The ACCUPRO 2500397 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard material applications. With a 1/4 inch diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 60-degree helix angle, this tool delivers aggressive chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces at the spindle. The TiCN coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention in demanding cuts. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required.
This end mill is suited for stub-length slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in both production and job-shop environments. The 3-flute geometry balances chip load and feed rate, making it effective for aluminum, steel, and stainless applications where a 2-flute would lack rigidity and a 4-flute would pack chips. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and CNC routers. The single-end configuration is standard for tool-change setups.
Designed as a stub-length replacement end mill for use in standard 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and CNC routers requiring a 3-flute solid carbide tool.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or lockout state. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention nut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish. Follow the tooling manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when programming cuts with this geometry and coating.
