The ACCUPRO 2500288 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), it delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous applications. The 5/8 inch cutting diameter is matched by a 5/8 inch shank diameter, keeping the setup concentric and rigid. With 5 fine-pitch flutes and a right-hand cutting and flute direction, this tool removes chips efficiently while maintaining a stable cut. It is a standard-length, non-center-cutting tool intended for side milling and profiling passes, not plunge entry. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. The 1.5 inch length of cut and 3.5 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth side milling in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials where TiCN coating provides adequate lubricity and heat resistance. The fine pitch flute spacing helps reduce chatter on harder workpieces. It is not designed for extended-reach or deep-cavity applications given its regular length designation. No variable helix geometry is present.
Designed as a standard-fitment roughing end mill for use in ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter on CNC or manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing tooling. Use a clean, undamaged collet or tool holder sized to 5/8 inch shank diameter and torque the retention system per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Because this tool is non-center-cutting, do not plunge directly into solid material — use a pre-drilled hole or a programmed ramp entry to begin the cut.
