The ACCUPRO 20437 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. It measures 29/64 inch (0.4500 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 4.75 inches and a flute length of 2.75 inches. The bit features a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to reduce friction and extend tool life, a 150-degree drill point angle for reduced thrust and self-centering capability, and three spiral flutes in a regular right-hand cutting configuration. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials where dimensional accuracy and tool longevity are critical.
This jobber-length drill bit is intended for use in production machining, job shop drilling, and general-purpose metalworking environments. The straight cylindrical shank makes it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual mills. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in moderately deep hole applications. Coolant-through capability is not included, so it is best suited for surface-applied or flood-coolant setups.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a straight cylindrical shank in the 0.4000 to 0.5000 inch diameter range. Conforms to ANSI specification designation for jobber-length drill bits.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before starting a cut, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading from excessive runout. Coolant-through is not available on this bit, so apply flood or mist coolant externally to manage heat during high-speed drilling operations.
