The ACCUPRO 14899833 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.04-inch cutting diameter and four flutes, it is built for fine-detail work where tight tolerances and clean finishes matter. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments by reducing friction and improving wear resistance. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.12-inch length of cut, this is a small-diameter tool suited for CNC machining centers running hardened steels, stainless, and high-temp alloys. Micrograin carbide substrate supports the edge integrity needed at this diameter range.
This end mill is used in CNC milling applications where small-feature work is required, including slots, pockets, and profiling on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation in right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configurations. The extended reach geometry and 0.36-inch reach length allow access into deeper features without excessive tool deflection. Typical users include CNC machinists, tool and die shops, and precision machine shops running production or prototype work on VMCs or HMCs.
Designed for use in CNC milling machines accepting a 0.125-inch round shank. Suitable for cutting ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless steel, and similar materials where AlTiN coating provides thermal and wear benefits.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are fully de-energized and at rest before loading or changing tooling. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as runout at this diameter range directly affects surface finish and tool life. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut when programming for this diameter.
