The ACCUPRO 14881984 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built on a miniature series platform, this single-end tool features a 0.125 inch mill diameter, a 3/16 inch length of cut, and an overall length of 2.5 inches. The 1/8 inch shank diameter and 1.25 inch neck length provide extended reach into tight pockets and deep cavity features. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life in abrasive and hard materials. Machined from micrograin carbide stock, this tool holds tight tolerances throughout the cut.
This ball end mill is suited for die and mold work, contour milling, and finishing passes on hardened steels, stainless alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The miniature series designation and extended neck geometry make it particularly useful for five-axis machining centers and milling machines where deep-reach tooling is required in confined areas. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard CNC spindle configurations. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on precision components with complex 3D profiles will find the 3-flute geometry a balanced choice between chip load capacity and surface finish quality.
Designed as a miniature series replacement or direct-use end mill compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collets or end mill holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, energy-isolated state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into a properly sized collet or shrink-fit holder and torque the retention nut per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning a cut, as miniature diameter tooling is sensitive to excessive runout that can cause premature breakage. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the selected material and spindle speed.
