The ACCUPRO 14881908 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of small-feature geometry in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. It carries a 0.0156 inch (1/64 inch) mill diameter, a 0.022 inch length of cut, and three spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life when machining hardened steels, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. Extended reach geometry and a 0.156 inch neck length allow access to deep or recessed features without interference. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this cutter on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required.
This end mill is suited for high-precision applications including mold and die work, medical component machining, and micro-feature detail cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The miniature series designation indicates it is built for small-diameter, close-tolerance work where standard tooling is too large. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration is compatible with conventional CNC vertical and horizontal machining setups. A 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and collet chuck systems commonly found in production and prototype machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter via ER collet or equivalent chuck system.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC tooling setup and runout requirements. Ensure the spindle and collet chuck are clean and free of debris before seating the 1/8 inch shank to minimize runout at the cutting edge. At this diameter, even minor runout will affect tool life and surface finish, so verify concentricity with a dial indicator before running at full feed rates. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds and feeds for miniature carbide tooling.
