The ACCUPRO 14881838 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in demanding materials. It features a 0.0400-inch cutting diameter with a 0.2000-inch length of cut (LOC) and a 3-flute spiral configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation at small scales. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and edge retention, while the AlTiN coating delivers thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous alloys, stainless steels, and hardened materials. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting and flute direction, this end mill suits contouring, profiling, and finishing passes where a precise ball-nose geometry is required. Machinist and toolroom professionals rely on this tool for intricate detail work in die and mold applications.
This miniature end mill is suited for CNC machining centers performing small-feature work, including die cavities, mold details, fine contours, and precision slots. The extended reach design, supported by a 0.4000-inch neck length, allows access to recessed features without interference. It accepts a 1/8-inch straight shank, making it compatible with standard collet systems and tool holders used across vertical and horizontal machining centers. With a 2.5-inch overall length and single-end configuration, it is a practical choice for production and prototype work where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1/8-inch collet or tool holder systems; part of the ACCUPRO Miniature Series for small-feature precision milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Shank diameter tolerance is minus 0.0001 to minus 0.0003 inches; verify collet size and runout before operation. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or axial engagement for the tool diameter, as miniature end mills are susceptible to deflection and breakage under excessive load.
