The ACCUPRO 14797472 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and fine-detail work. With a 0.05-inch cutting diameter and three flutes, this miniature single-end mill delivers consistent chip evacuation and surface finish in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention at small diameters where high-speed steel tooling falls short. A 30-degree helix angle balances axial cutting forces, making it well suited for finishing passes and contour work in die, mold, and prototype machining environments. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles.
This end mill is built for miniature and micro-scale milling applications where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required. The long overall length of 2.5 inches with a 0.3-inch length of cut allows access to recessed features and deep pockets without interference from the shank. The 1/8-inch shank fits standard collets on vertical machining centers, CNC routers, and die-sinking setups. Typical applications include mold cavity finishing, contour milling, and detail work in aluminum, steel, titanium, and hardened alloys. No coating is applied, keeping regrind costs low and tool behavior predictable in light finishing cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production tool for miniature ball end mill applications requiring a 1/8-inch shank and 0.05-inch cutting diameter in CNC machining center collet systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a precision collet or end mill holder, ensuring the holder is clean and free of chips before clamping. Verify runout with a dial indicator before engaging the workpiece, as runout at this diameter will directly affect surface finish and tool life. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut. Power down the spindle completely before tool changes.
