The ACCUPRO 14797458 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of tight-tolerance features in metal and hard-material workpieces. With a 1/32-inch (0.0312-inch) mill diameter and a 1/4-inch length of cut, this miniature-series tool handles small-feature profiling, slotting, and contour work where larger tooling cannot reach. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry and AlTiN coating support dry or semi-dry cutting in ferrous materials, extending tool life at elevated surface speeds. Three flutes provide a balance of chip clearance and cutting edge count suited to small-diameter work in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining applications requiring miniature-scale material removal, including die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and precision part manufacturing. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and small-bore tool holders common in vertical machining centers and CNC routers. Its long overall length of 2-1/2 inches allows access to recessed features while the single-end configuration keeps runout predictable at high RPM. The micrograin carbide substrate supports rigidity at this diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill compatible with standard 1/8-inch ER collet chucks and small-bore tool holders used in CNC vertical machining centers, high-speed spindles, and CNC routers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut per the tool holder manufacturer specification. At miniature diameters, runout at the tool tip is critical — verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting.
