The ACCUPRO 14797388 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in hardened and difficult-to-machine materials. With a 0.05-inch cutting diameter and 2-flute geometry, this single-end tool delivers tight-tolerance profiling, contouring, and slotting in confined workspaces. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extends tool life in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting environments. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. This tool is used by machinists and CNC tooling professionals working in precision manufacturing, mold making, die work, and aerospace part production.
This miniature end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, fine-detail work is required. The 0.15-inch length of cut and 1.5-inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-profile passes on small features and fine surface finishing. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and toolholders common in vertical machining centers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow conventional climb and conventional milling setups. Typical applications include mold cavities, engraving paths, small radii finishing, and intricate 3D contouring on steel, stainless, titanium, and similar alloys.
Designed for use in CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills equipped with collets or toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter. Suitable for cutting steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other hard alloys consistent with AlTiN-coated carbide tooling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. At miniature diameters, deflection and runout are critical factors - verify tool runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts and use appropriate feed and speed calculations for the specific workpiece material.
