The ACCUPRO 14797324 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal-cutting applications. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers strong heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The mill measures 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) in diameter with a 9/32 inch (0.281 inch) length of cut and a 4 inch overall length. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge operations as well as standard peripheral and slot milling.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where tight-tolerance work is required. The extended reach design, with a neck length of 2.812 inches and a reach length of 2.25 inches, makes it well-suited for deep-pocket and hard-to-reach milling scenarios. The AlTiN coating performs well in ferrous materials, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys. It is typically set up and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
Designed as a standard 3/16 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collet systems, end mill holders, and similar tool-holding setups accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank. Shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 to -0.0003 inch for consistent runout in precision holders.
Installation is performed by machinists using an appropriate collet chuck or end mill holder sized for a 3/16 inch shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Verify collet condition and cleanliness before clamping to maintain concentricity and minimize runout. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards for speeds, feeds, and workholding before beginning a cut.
