The ACCUPRO 14797217 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.055-inch cutting diameter and a 0.082-inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in confined areas and small-feature machining. The three-flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating adds thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life when cutting ferrous and hardened materials. It is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for small-diameter milling in ferrous metals, tool steels, stainless steel, and similar hard materials where heat generation is a concern. The extended reach design, with a 0.45-inch reach length and 2.5-inch overall length on a 1/8-inch shank, allows access to recessed features and deep pockets that standard-length tools cannot reach. Center-cutting capability allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece. It is a single-end tool and is not reversible. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual mills with ER or collet-style toolholders accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the 1/8-inch shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout on small-diameter end mills accelerates tool wear and breakage. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for feeds, speeds, and depth of cut for the workpiece material.
