The ACCUPRO 14788553 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 3/8-inch diameter cutting face with a 0.1300-inch corner radius, a 4-flute spiral geometry, and an AlTiN+ coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The overall length is 4 inches with a 1-3/4-inch length of cut, making it well suited for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, so it can be plunged directly into a workpiece. It is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is intended for applications where sharp internal corners are not acceptable and a controlled radius blend is required at the floor-to-wall transition. It performs well in hardened steels, stainless alloys, and other difficult-to-machine materials where the AlTiN+ coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation. Typical use cases include die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and precision part production where surface finish and dimensional accuracy at corner features are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-purchase solid carbide corner radius end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank tool holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance after seating the tool, as excessive runout accelerates flute wear and degrades corner radius accuracy. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material.
