The ACCUPRO 14788521 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineering plastics. It features a 0.266 inch (17/64 inch) mill diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 38-42 degree helical flute angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The four-flute, centercutting configuration allows plunge cutting and full-slot milling. A 5/16 inch cylindrical shank provides rigid tool holding in standard end mill holders and collet chucks. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, and maintenance environments.
This end mill suits a wide range of general-purpose milling applications including profiling, slotting, and contouring on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 0.266 inch diameter makes it appropriate for tight-tolerance features and smaller workpieces where a standard 1/4 inch or 5/16 inch end mill would not fit correctly. The 2 inch overall length keeps tool overhang minimal, supporting rigidity and reducing deflection during cuts. No chipbreaker geometry is present, making this tool well suited for finishing passes and semi-finish operations where surface finish quality is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement solid carbide square end mill for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 5/16 inch cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder or collet to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer, and torque the retention screw or nut per the holder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
