The ACCUPRO 14788477 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built as a single-end, center-cutting tool, it features a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch (0.7500 inch) length of cut, and a 0.0450 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding materials. The AlTiN+ coating provides enhanced heat resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making it well-suited for high-speed dry or semi-dry machining. Installed by machinists and tool and die professionals, this end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills with the appropriate collet or chuck.
This end mill is used in precision metal removal operations where a controlled corner radius is required to avoid sharp 90-degree transitions in a workpiece. Common applications include profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys where the AlTiN+ coating provides a clear performance advantage. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during conventional and climb milling passes. With a 1 inch shank diameter and 2.5 inch overall length, it is suited for setups requiring rigidity and minimal tool overhang.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-install tooling for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1 inch shank diameter with standard collet chucks or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer torque and runout specifications for the holder type in use. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing any end mill from the holder. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator after setup to confirm seating and minimize premature wear. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during operation.
