The ACCUPRO 14788458 is a solid carbide, four-flute square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard plastic materials. With a mill diameter of 0.0780 inches (5/64 inch) and a 1/4-inch length of cut, this end mill is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature machining. The helical flute geometry at a 29 to 31 degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The 1/8-inch cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and tooling professionals install and use this tool in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for finishing and light roughing passes on small part features, slots, and pockets. Its 0.0780-inch diameter makes it appropriate for micro-milling applications where larger tooling cannot reach. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed for harder workpiece materials and higher spindle speeds. The 1-1/2-inch overall length keeps deflection low during cuts, which is critical at this diameter. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and precision instrument manufacturing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8-inch cylindrical shank tool holder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the machine manufacturer's specification. At this diameter, run-out should be verified before production use, as excessive run-out will accelerate tool wear and reduce dimensional accuracy.
