The ACCUPRO 14556478 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hard alloy workpieces. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required in demanding CNC machining environments. The 0.3750-inch diameter cutting head is paired with a 40-degree helix angle and an AlTiN+ coating, which provides heat and oxidation resistance at elevated cutting speeds. With four flutes and a spiral flute form, it generates smooth chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fabrication shops as well as production machine shops will find this tool suited to tight-tolerance profiling and contouring passes.
This end mill is configured for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, making it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual mills with conventional spindle rotation. The 0.8750-inch length of cut accommodates typical slotting and profiling depths at this diameter range. A 3/8-inch shank diameter matches standard ER and side-lock collet systems. The 2.5-inch overall length keeps the tool extension compact, supporting rigidity during full-depth passes. It is a standard-length, non-extended-reach tool without chipbreaker geometry or variable helix features, which simplifies programming and tool path setup.
Designed as a standard 3/8-inch shank ball end mill compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with ER collet chucks or side-lock tool holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an appropriate safe state per shop lockout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut according to the collet system manufacturer specifications. Verify runout at the cutting diameter before beginning the first pass. Improper collet fit or inadequate clamping force can cause tool pull-out, poor surface finish, and premature tool failure.
