The ACCUPRO 14556428 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.01 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the base of cuts and extends tool life. The AlTiN+ coating adds thermal resistance and hardness, making this mill well suited for high-speed, dry, or near-dry machining conditions. With 4 right-hand flutes and a 40-degree helix, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. This is a single-end, centercutting tool built from micrograin carbide stock.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where a radiused corner is specified on the finished workpiece. It is a standard choice for mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and precision job shop applications. The straight-cylindrical 1/2 inch shank fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling. It is appropriate for machining steel, stainless, titanium, and other difficult alloys where an AlTiN+ coating provides a performance advantage.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-specification solid carbide corner radius end mill for CNC and manual milling applications requiring a 1/2 inch diameter, 1/2 inch shank, and 0.01 inch corner radius in the ACCUPRO Series 6/44 product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended gauge line depth and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and compromise corner radius tolerance.
