The ACCUPRO 14556423 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 1/2 inch diameter with a 0.0100 inch corner radius and a 5/8 inch length of cut, making it well suited for producing controlled edge radii that reduce stress concentrations and extend workpiece life. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. An AlTiN+ coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. Single-end and centercutting geometry allows plunge entry and versatile toolpath strategies. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms.
This end mill is applicable to vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers as well as manual mills where a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank is accepted. The stub-length configuration at 2-1/2 inches overall length provides rigidity in setups where deflection must be minimized. The Series 6/44 designation and micrograin carbide substrate make it appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is a single-use, non-resharpened production tool typically specified for high-tolerance profiling, contouring, and slotting operations.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and mills accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with standard ER, side-lock, and hydraulic toolholders sized for 1/2 inch shanks.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is clean and seated fully in the toolholder before torquing the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Do not exceed the recommended axial depth of cut for the diameter and coating grade. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating to confirm concentricity before beginning a cut.
