The ACCUPRO 14556373 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.030 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. With 4 flutes and an AlTiN+ coating, this end mill handles demanding cuts in hardened steels, stainless, and other difficult-to-machine alloys. It is a single-end, centercutting tool with right-hand cutting and flute direction. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge retention in production machining environments.
This end mill is suited for CNC milling operations in job shops, tool rooms, and manufacturing facilities working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The stub length configuration and 2 inch overall length make it appropriate for rigid setups where reach is limited. The 40-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation during peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and CNC operators running finishing or semi-finishing passes on complex contoured workpieces will find the corner radius geometry beneficial for reducing chipping and extending tool life compared to square-end designs.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank tool holder. Specific machine compatibility depends on the holder and collet system in use.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the tool. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 1/4 inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the AlTiN+ coating and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use.
