The ACCUPRO 12665-00C is a thread forming tap designed for producing 1/4-20 UNC internal threads in ductile and malleable materials without cutting chips. It uses a plug chamfer with 4 chamfered threads to gradually displace material and cold-form the thread profile. Manufactured from powdered metal high-speed steel for consistent grain structure and wear resistance, it carries a TiCN coating to reduce friction and extend tool life in production tapping operations. The overall length is 2.5 inches with a tapping depth capacity of 1.0 inch, making it well suited for through-hole applications in moderate-depth workpieces.
