The ACCUPRO 12185423 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. It features a 4-flute configuration with a 40-degree helix angle and an integrated chipbreaker geometry that breaks up chips during aggressive material removal, reducing heat buildup and improving surface finish. The 0.25-inch diameter and long-length design make it suited for reaching into pockets, slots, and profiling passes on milling machines and CNC machining centers. The uncoated carbide construction is appropriate for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments use this tool for versatile stock removal and finish work without a tool change.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling applications where a combination rougher-finisher reduces cycle time and tooling inventory. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling on most CNC and manual mills. The long length of cut of 1.125 inches allows deeper passes in slot milling, pocket milling, and peripheral profiling. The 0.25-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and set-screw style toolholders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills accepting a 0.25-inch shank end mill via ER collet, end mill holder, or set-screw toolholder.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility safety procedures. Ensure the collet or toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Recommended practices follow standard machining safety guidelines and machine manufacturer specifications.
