The ACCUPRO 12185236 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter with a 1/2-inch length of cut, a matching 3/8-inch shank, and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. Constructed from micrograin solid carbide, this double-end tool delivers consistent rigidity and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility with the workpiece material or coolant is a concern. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for stub-length milling applications where reduced overhang and improved rigidity are priorities. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece, enabling slotting, profiling, and pocket-milling operations without a pre-drilled hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers. It is appropriate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where an uncoated micrograin carbide tool is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is off before changing tooling. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow shop-floor speeds and feeds charts appropriate for the workpiece material and machine horsepower when setting cutting parameters.
