The ACCUPRO 12185111 is a double-end, square-profile solid carbide end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length, making it a compact stub-length tool suited for rigid setups with minimal overhang. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers hardness and edge retention, while the TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where a stub-length, double-end configuration is preferred to maximize tool utility and reduce per-edge cost. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge milling in addition to peripheral and slot milling operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle rotation. It is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar machinable alloys where tight tolerances are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for standard 1/2-inch collet or end mill holder setups on CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/2-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank fully within a properly sized collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder to the minimum recommended engagement depth before tightening. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material.
