The ACCUPRO 12185108 is a double-end, square-profile solid carbide end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 7/16 inch diameter, a 9/16 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree right-hand helix that promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter. The TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive cutting environments. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the toughness needed for interrupted cuts and tight-tolerance work. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations.
This stub-length end mill is suited for short-reach applications where rigidity is critical, such as shallow pocketing and face milling on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. The double-end configuration doubles the usable cutting edges per tool, making it a practical choice for production environments where tool economy matters. The right-hand cutting direction pairs with standard spindle rotation on conventional vertical machining centers.
Designed for use with standard 7/16 inch collets and end mill holders in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Suitable for milling ferrous metals, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials where TiCN-coated carbide tooling is appropriate.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the collet or end mill holder before spindle operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate recommendations for the workpiece material before engaging the cut. Inspect both cutting ends for chipping or wear before each use to avoid workpiece damage or tool failure.
