The ACCUPRO 12185057 is a double-end square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, it delivers hardness and wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) cutting diameter and stub-length geometry make it well suited for fine detail work, slot milling, and profiling in confined spaces. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while reducing cutting forces. With 2 spiral flutes and a centercutting design, this tool can plunge directly into the workpiece. Both ends are usable, extending tool life between replacements.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and high-speed spindle setups where small-diameter tooling is required. Its stub length and 1/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in production and tool room environments. Typical applications include die and mold work, engraving, slotting, and contour milling in aluminum, steel, stainless, brass, and similar materials. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling operations.
Designed for use with standard 1/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Suitable for right-hand spindle rotation in conventional milling setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet or holder to the minimum recommended grip length before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges and TiCN coating for chipping before each use, especially at this diameter, as microfractures are not always visible without magnification.
