The ACCUPRO 12184960 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling in demanding CNC and manual machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-temperature cutting conditions and hard materials that would wear down standard tooling quickly. The mill measures 0.3125 inches in diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 6-inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for reaching deep pockets and cavities. Four spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish on contoured surfaces.
This end mill is suited for machining shops, tool rooms, and production environments where deep-reach profiling, slotting, and 3D contouring are required. The extra-long overall length makes it a practical choice when standard-length tooling cannot reach the work zone. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction follow conventional CNC spindle setups. The 5/16-inch shank diameter is a common size for standard collets and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers and CNC routers. Machinists working with steel, stainless, cast iron, and high-temp alloys will find the AlTiN coating and micrograin carbide substrate well matched to those materials.
Designed for use in standard 5/16-inch collets, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders on vertical machining centers, CNC routers, and manual knee mills configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated to the recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder and that the collet nut is torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use, and confirm correct spindle RPM and feed rate for the workpiece material before initiating the cut.
