The ACCUPRO 12184872 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this single-end tool delivers a 0.3125-inch cutting diameter with a 1.125-inch length of cut and a 40-degree helix angle for aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in demanding applications. With four flutes and right-hand cutting and flute direction, this end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where surface quality and dimensional accuracy matter. Machinists and CNC operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals will find this tool well suited to their production needs.
This ball end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for contouring, profiling, slotting, and 3D surface milling. The long-length designation and 1.125-inch length of cut provide reach into deeper cavities and pockets without sacrificing rigidity, thanks to the 0.3125-inch shank diameter and solid carbide construction. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general precision part production where a ball-nose profile is required to generate curved surfaces or blend radii.
Designed as a standard shank ball end mill compatible with CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 0.3125-inch (5/16-inch) round shank tool holder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to secure the 0.3125-inch shank, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the material being machined.
