The ACCUPRO 12184708 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.7874 inch (20 mm) mill diameter and a 1.4961 inch (38 mm) length of cut, this single-end tool generates smooth, accurate contoured surfaces on hardened steels, stainless steels, and other demanding materials. The 4-flute configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and improving wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. Micrograin carbide substrate enhances edge retention and toughness.
This ball end mill is suited for finish milling, profile milling, and 3D contouring work on CNC machining centers and milling machines in job shop, tool and die, mold making, and production machining environments. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand spiral flutes are standard for conventional CNC spindle configurations. The 20 mm shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in standard ER or side-lock collet chucks. With a 101 mm overall length, this tool fits most vertical and horizontal machining center spindles without requiring extended-reach toolholders.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 20 mm shank diameter. Suitable for milling hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, powered-down state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a properly rated collet chuck or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
