The ACCUPRO 12184684 is a single-end ball end mill designed for 3D contouring, profiling, and finish milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance that high-speed steel tooling cannot match. The 0.5-inch diameter cutting face and 1-inch length of cut suit a wide range of pocket and contour work. An AlTiN coating provides thermal barrier protection, extending tool life in dry or minimum-quantity lubrication cutting environments. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces on the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this end mill for precision work in steel, stainless, cast iron, and hardened alloys.
This end mill is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills used in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms. With a 0.5-inch shank diameter, it mounts directly into standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders without an adapter. The 3-inch overall length gives adequate reach for most cavity and die work while maintaining the stiffness needed to control deflection. It is a single-end tool, so once the cutting end is worn it is reground or replaced rather than flipped.
Designed as a standard 0.5-inch shank ball end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders that accept a 0.5-inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before running the first pass.
